Sr. Software Engineer, Web Linden Lab


Linden Lab is looking for innovative engineers to build compelling web experiences for our new upcoming virtual world. Build large-scale, highly interactive web applications.

Design and architect maintainable solutions to complex problems.

Take ownership of key pieces of our stack.

Work closely with other engineering teams to integrate their systems.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to keep projects moving quickly and efficiently.


5+ years experience developing consumer-oriented web applications using Ruby and JavaScript.

Knowledge of HTML and CSS.

Experience with SQL and non-relational data stores.

Experience with caching.

Experience with git.

Experience with automated testing.

Working knowledge of HTTP, web servers, shell scripting and Unix/Linux command line.

Demonstrated ability to accurately scope projects.

Must thrive in a fast-moving, multi-tasking, distributed work environment.

Bachelor?s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.


Experience building single-page web applications.

Experience using Amazon Web Services and Docker.

Experience working in Scrum teams.

A hunger to learn and apply new technologies.
